In partnership with and funded by the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative, the California Resiliency Alliance developed the Bay Area Public-Private Partnership Resiliency Initiative (BAPPPRI), a set of guides and instructional videos to assist the public and private sectors with establishing constructive partnerships and Business Operations Centers.
The Strategic Plan: This plan provides guidance on how to develop and sustain Private Sector Advisory Committees (PSACs). These committees bring together representatives from the public and private sector to work together on planning, exercises, and training in order to strengthen resiliency and address gaps that may exist in the response structure.
The Business Operations Center (BOC) Guides: A business operations center is a gathering point (physical or virtual) for the private sector companies within a jurisdiction and acts as a single point of contact for the government Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the wake of a disaster. This centralized contact method helps to create a more efficient and effective response by creating a private sector presence in the EOC. The EOC can then contact the BOC in order to access private sector resources or push out information to the business community. A BOC is not a solo project, meaning that both the public and private sectors must work together to create one. As such, there are guides for both the government and businesses on how to create a functional and effective BOC.
